Friends. Life is certainly richer for the friends who are in our lives. They are the ones who share our laughs and our successes, our fears and our failures. God created us with a desire for deep friendship. Proverbs 17:17 even describes what a true friendship looks like: “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
Many times, life-long friendships are developed during the school years. It doesn’t take long watching the playground at recess or the hallways between classes to see that youth – at all ages – find much of their identity in their friends. As parents, our heart’s desire is that our children not simply have friends, but that they have the right kind of friends. So how can we be involved in the lives of our children’s friends?
